"Down On The Farm" is BREWN's brand new reimagined version of the James Blundell classic from the 90's.
BREWNhas turned it on it's head to create a very modern and very rockin' take on the song - one that left James smiling from ear to ear with pure joy.
The song is featured on the upcoming release - "30 Years of Pride - A Tribute to James Blundell"- released Friday 23rd February through Red Rebel Music.
Over the last 18 months - BREWN- has become one of the hottest new bands in Australian country rock.
Their unique take on the storytelling of country music mixed with Aussie pub rock combines to create a refreshing new sound which is distinctly 'Brewn'.
James Blundell has been one of the band's biggest champions - asking them to not only be his opening act but becoming his key live band. Tania Kernaghan has since also jumped on board the Brewn express in the same way and the three will be touring together more frequently during 2018.
MEDIA RELEASE - 27th September 2017
Hot on the heels of the hits "Someday" and "Carolyn" comes Brewn's brand new single - "Top Gear" - just in time to celebrate their main stage performance at this year's Deni Ute Muster.
"Top Gear" is a scorching country rock anthem which is ready to set alight car stereos across the country.
Lead vocalist of Brewn, Michael Bond, explains the idea behind the song. "It's all about throwing caution to the wind and leaving it all behind to chase the horizon. As a thunderstorm rolls in, you put your head up, foot down and keep driving straight ahead to chase the dream!"
It's high octane guitars welded together with brute force rhythms and powerhouse vocals. It's raw, gritty and flying at top speed - but best of all - it's good fun!
MEDIA RELEASE - 28th June 2017
The rise of Australian outfit - BREWN - has been nothing short of stellar. In just a matter of months the Canberra based band has gone from strength to strength with new management and label, a return to the charts and a swag of exiting new recordings in the works. They've also cemented a Deni Ute Muster main stage appearance in September with the iconic James Blundell and today release their new single, "Carolyn".
As the latest single lifted from the album, "My Town" - "Carolyn" - brings to light a more melodic and contemporary approach for the band while remaining true to their roots. "Carolyn shows a different side to Brewn and really showcases Anthony's influence on the Brewn sound", says lead singer/guitarist, Michael Bond.
As guitarist and songwriter, Anthony Barbara explains, whilst the song is in part true, it could be about any girl and the way her partner feels about her. "Some of it is true to the words - while others Mick added later - to develop it more. It became a song that was titled Carolyn but her name is never mentioned in the song. This allows it to be universally relatable to others feeling the same way I did when I wrote it".
The guys recently shot the accompanying music video for "Carolyn" at the Great Northern Hotel in Newcastle under the impeccable eye of award winning director, Duncan Toombs, from The Filmery.
"Working with Duncan is always a fantastic experience. We had our heart set on a treatment for the clip but Duncan came up with the idea of using the Great Northern Hotel in Newcastle. It is currently under renovations and this grand old building and iconic live music venue was a fantastic choice", says Michael.
Brewn's new manager called in a favour and the guys were lucky enough to have international model and actress, Imogen Bailey, join them in the clip.
"When we found out we were working with Imogen Bailey, I guess you could say we were all little excited", laughed Michael. "Imogen was one of the nicest people you could ever meet and it was fantastic to watch such a professional at work".
"Carolyn" is available now via all digital outlets including iTunes, Google Play, Apple Music and Spotify.
