"Down On The Farm" is BREWN's brand new reimagined version of the James Blundell classic from the 90's.

BREWNhas turned it on it's head to create a very modern and very rockin' take on the song - one that left James smiling from ear to ear with pure joy.

The song is featured on the upcoming release - "30 Years of Pride - A Tribute to James Blundell"- released Friday 23rd February through Red Rebel Music.

Over the last 18 months - BREWN- has become one of the hottest new bands in Australian country rock.

Their unique take on the storytelling of country music mixed with Aussie pub rock combines to create a refreshing new sound which is distinctly 'Brewn'.

James Blundell has been one of the band's biggest champions - asking them to not only be his opening act but becoming his key live band. Tania Kernaghan has since also jumped on board the Brewn express in the same way and the three will be touring together more frequently during 2018.

Hot on the heels of the hits "Someday" and "Carolyn" comes Brewn's brand new single - "Top Gear" - just in time to celebrate their main stage performance at this year's Deni Ute Muster.

"Top Gear" is a scorching country rock anthem which is ready to set alight car stereos across the country.

Lead vocalist of Brewn, Michael Bond, explains the idea behind the song. "It's all about throwing caution to the wind and leaving it all behind to chase the horizon. As a thunderstorm rolls in, you put your head up, foot down and keep driving straight ahead to chase the dream!"

It's high octane guitars welded together with brute force rhythms and powerhouse vocals. It's raw, gritty and flying at top speed - but best of all - it's good fun!

MEDIA RELEASE - 28th June 2017

The rise of Australian outfit - BREWN - has been nothing short of stellar. In just a matter of months the Canberra based band has gone from strength to strength with new management and label, a return to the charts and a swag of exiting new recordings in the works. They've also cemented a Deni Ute Muster main stage appearance in September with the iconic James Blundell and today release their new single, "Carolyn".

As the latest single lifted from the album, "My Town" - "Carolyn" - brings to light a more melodic and contemporary approach for the band while remaining true to their roots. "Carolyn shows a different side to Brewn and really showcases Anthony's influence on the Brewn sound", says lead singer/guitarist, Michael Bond.

As guitarist and songwriter, Anthony Barbara explains, whilst the song is in part true, it could be about any girl and the way her partner feels about her. "Some of it is true to the words - while others Mick added later - to develop it more. It became a song that was titled Carolyn but her name is never mentioned in the song. This allows it to be universally relatable to others feeling the same way I did when I wrote it".

The guys recently shot the accompanying music video for "Carolyn" at the Great Northern Hotel in Newcastle under the impeccable eye of award winning director, Duncan Toombs, from The Filmery.

"Working with Duncan is always a fantastic experience. We had our heart set on a treatment for the clip but Duncan came up with the idea of using the Great Northern Hotel in Newcastle. It is currently under renovations and this grand old building and iconic live music venue was a fantastic choice", says Michael.

Brewn's new manager called in a favour and the guys were lucky enough to have international model and actress, Imogen Bailey, join them in the clip.

"When we found out we were working with Imogen Bailey, I guess you could say we were all little excited", laughed Michael. "Imogen was one of the nicest people you could ever meet and it was fantastic to watch such a professional at work".

"Carolyn" is available now via all digital outlets including iTunes, Google Play, Apple Music and Spotify.

A down to earth bunch of good blokes, who tell real stories through their songs about their lives, families, hometown and good times in a way which connects the band with their audience in a very authentic fashion.

It was through their energetic live performances and great songs that the band caught the ear of Australian Country icon, James Blundell. Blundell has been a vocal supporter of Brewn, and often includes them as his opening act or as his live backing band at major events such as the Deni Ute Muster and the Sydney Royal Easter Show. "Brewn are just kickin' ass - they are fantastic. These guys and The Wolfe Brothers are the two bands who've come ahead in leaps and bounds in the last five years - they're both brilliant", said James Blundell.

It was through their work with James Blundell, and proving themselves as a dedicated, hard working and professional act that also caught the attention of Red Rebel Music who agreed with Blundell - that these guys really had something special to offer. "Just talking to the guys we knew that they were the real deal and in music for the right reasons. We're looking forward to working with Brewn for the next phase of their career", said Red Rebel Music's Karen Waters.
"Brewn is excited about the future now we are part of the Red Rebel Music family and we are honoured to work alongside of the great calibre of artists involved with the label", said Brewn's frontman Michael Bond.

Brewn's current album "My Town", has been gathering momentum since it's release with top 10 hits including "Someday" and "My Town" to their credit. "Someday" is currently enjoying a resurgence in popularity since being picked up by the KIX Country Network. "The boys are passionate about music and from my perspective it's refreshing to see people genuinely love what they do for a living", said KIX Country's Program and Content Director, Justin Thomson.

According to Brewn's Michael Bond, the track "Someday" is all about thinking about the huge possibilities in life and convincing yourself that, after all this hard work, you will get what you want. "Everyone of us have those things we park in the back of our minds that we intend to do someday. This song reflects the desire to leave the daily grind behind and go for those things we keep buried in boxes deep within our psyche".

Brewn will perform at the 2017 Sydney Royal Easter Show on Friday 14th April opening for and backing James Blundell. It will be an awesome show so don't miss it!

Maton Guitar Endorsement

They aint’ young and they sure aint’ pretty, but Australian country rock band Brewn are truly a working class band that the average Australian can relate to. They have invested blood, sweat and tears to become professional full-time musicians, juggling the responsibilities of having a young family with maintaining their dream of bringing their musical goals to fruition. The Canberra based band have certainly paid their dues on the live music circuit with more than 200 gigs to boast of, and a quintessentially Australian sound that is synonymous with dusty roads, outback pubs and good old fashioned mateship.

It echoes another great Australian success story—that of Maton Guitars—which has grown from a small backyard workshop to an iconic national brand, now respected the world over for its quality-handcrafted guitars. Brewn have been passionate devotees of their instruments for some time now, so it is with great pride that today they announce their official endorsement with Maton Guitars. The endorsement has been a long coveted aspiration for the Brewn lads. “Back in 2010 at my first Tamworth Country Music Festival, I remember sitting in the audience of the Maton showcase, thinking what a dream it would be to be endorsed by my favourite guitar brand Maton” said Mick Bond from Brewn.

The endorsement could not be timelier for the band as they are poised to release their second album in January 2015. The album, recorded in Hervey Bay with Rob Mackay from Pacific International Music, displays the bands unique brand of storytelling and ever-maturing sound. They are currently deep in preparation for a national tour early next year to coincide with the release.

To augment the excitement about this big announcement, today the band received news that they have been confirmed to play at the Tamworth Country Music Festival ‘Maton Showcase’ in the Blazes Auditorium on 22ndJanuary. It seems this all-Australian band are finally receiving their due notability after all these years.

Brewn have recently been enjoying a productive working relationship with music management consultants J Music Australia, who are proud to have brokered the deal with Maton. “We have J Music to thank for the progress we have made in the last 12 months” said Bond “they have a real knack for helping muso’s get their act together.

Get ready for good times with the release of  ‘My Town’
Living up to their rocking, honest and lively performance reputation, Brewn is taking their music to the next level with the release of their second album ‘My Town’.
Brewn’ is a dynamic Australian-based country rock band whose sound, as well as their story, centres around good times, good music and good ole’ fashioned “blue collar” hard-work. Here is a working class band, writing about their jobs, their cars, their lovers and their hometown, projecting pride in their identity and in a language their fans can understand.

Following the ambitious and soul-searching antics of an Australian boy wishing to escape his country town to find greener pastures, ‘My Town’ embodies a range of melodic stories, which Brewn’ bring to life with energetic rehashing and brash rock and roll stylings.
From the reflective nature of  ‘Someday’ through to the crowd favourite, toe tapping ‘Country Town’ (AKA ‘Funky Town’), ‘My Town’ takes you on a musical journey.
Penned over two years under the Pacific International Music label, the highly acclaimed second album reflects the unique mix of sounds of lead singer Mick Bond, drummer John Barbara, guitarist Anthony Barbara, and bassist Zach Whittaker.

“We wanted to tell a story that most people can relate to - thinking that you need to escape the place you grew up in, then missing it when you eventually leave,” says Mick. “Each song is reminiscent of a different stage of those emotions. We hope that through our music, people can reflect fondly on their own similar experiences.”
For anyone looking to lose themselves in some good honest music and regain a sense of pride in where they come from or where they are going in life, then ‘My Town’ is the album to take you there.
‘My Town’ is the follow up album to “Rusted On” and will be released in August. The first single from the album is the title track “My Town”.
